Volunteer With Us
There are a variety of positions available from time to time that you may be able to help with. Please consider getting involved.
There are many ways to volunteer at Literacy Nipissing. Our most common volunteer need is for one-to-one tutors,. You can also volunteer as a board member, one-time event assistant, or other opportunities when they come available.
Please note that we require all volunteers to submit a police record check or suitable references.
BOARD MEMBER
As a non-profit, we are run by a volunteer board of directors. The board meets monthly and is elected annually.
EVENT VOLUNTEER
Our organization occasionally has events in the community where we invite the public to see what programs we offer.
TUTORING
A tutor is someone who works with a student on a friendly, one-to-one basis with the objective of improving the student’s literacy skills.
